Judith Gupton-Wiley is a native Delawarean and the mother of two adult children. After graduating from Wilmington High School, she completed her undergraduate and graduate studies in Washington, DC. In addition to three years as a counselor and human services director for a non-profit vocational rehabilitation facility, Judi worked 33 years in the public school system as a high school English teacher and later as a guidance counselor. She retired in 2007. A real advocate for volunteerism, one of Judi’s proudest accomplishments before retiring was the creation of and active participation in an award-winning Volunteer Club at Christiana High School
Judi’s writing experience includes helping to publish the Delaware Army National Guard’s newsletter, during her seven years as a public information officer. Additionally, she published the Christina School District’s Guidance Counselor newsletter for two years. Currently, Judi writes a monthly column entitled “The Joy of a Healthy Brain” which is distributed to New Castle County senior centers. The purpose of the column is to encourage seniors to do new and different activities that will help to keep their brains stimulated.
Judi's other interests include book discussion groups, line-dancing, para-sailing, and volunteerism through Read-Aloud DE, RSVP, and international missionary work to up-lift orphaned children.
